​On May 29, 2026, CA3 was presented with the Florida Planning & Zoning Association’s (FPZA) 2025-2026 Outstanding Arts & Cultural Development Award for Florida Studio Theater’s (FST) McGillicuddy Arts Plaza project. Per the Association’s website, FPZA is a statewide organization that promotes cooperation and education among planning/zoning professionals and enthusiasts. Their goals are to encourage the observance of sound planning practices, cultivate interest in planning by local governments, engage in research, provide informational resources, and promote sound development of land, water, and natural resources. The award ceremony was part of the 2026 FPZA Annual Conference featuring keynote speakers and attended by planning/zoning staff from municipalities across the state. FST’s McGillicuddy Arts Plaza was selected for its unique mixed-use program in a dense urban location. The project was also recognized for its workforce housing component, structured public parking, and connection to the historic Gompertz Theatre. C. Alan Anderson (Principal Architect) and Troy Odell (Project Manager/Designer) worked in collaboration with HR Green, DWJA, and Freedman Consulting through the City of Sarasota’s Development Review Commission and Planning Board hearings to attain approval for the project. This team’s goal was to realize Florida Studio Theatre’s vision of providing affordable housing for actors and performance staff within Downtown Sarasota while providing much-needed off-street parking and additional theatre spaces. The project is currently under construction with projected completion in 2027.

CA3 was named the Best Mixed-Use Cultural Development Architecture Project 2026 (Florida) for the Florida Studio Theatre McGillicuddy Arts Plaza project by BUILD Magazine for the BUILD Architecture Awards 2026.

CA3 was named the Best Civic & Cultural Architecture Practice 2026 (Florida) by BUILD Magazine for the BUILD Architecture Awards 2026.

CA3 was named the Best Residential & Commercial Architecture Firm 2023 (Southwest Florida) by BUILD Magazine for the BUILD Architecture Awards 2023.
